​No previous knowledge required. This is a course for complete beginners. We will learn how to greet and thank people in formal and informal situations. We will learn the alphabet and how to read and pronounce Italian words. You will learn how to introduce yourself, how to ask simple questions and how to give simple answers about your nationality, your age, where you live, the languages you speak, etc. You will also learn how to introduce a third person. We will learn how to ask for prices when in Italy and therefore we will learn numbers from 0 to 100. In terms of grammar, you'll be introduced to very basic grammar such as present tense of regular and some irregular verbs, articles, nouns and adjectives.

False beginner A1/A2

Students are familiar with the basics of Italian language (present tense of regular and irregular verbs, agreements between articles, nouns and adjectives, the verb piacere, possessive adjectives). Students can already express themselves in a simple way, they are able to introduce themself and ask basic questions and give basic answers. They can order food in Italian and they can express their likes and dislikes, they can talk about what they do, their hobbies and everyday activities. In this course we will learn reflexive verbs and how to talk about your daily routine; how to talk about a place and describe a city by expressing preference, how to buy and negotiate in an Italian market, and finally we will learn the past tense so that by the end of the course you will be able to express yourself in the present and past tense.

Pre-Intermediate A2 

​

• Day and time: Thursday 7pm Italy 

• Starting date: Thursday 9th January 

• Duration: 9 weeks - 75 minutes per lesson 

• Course Fee: 230 euros 

• Number of students: up to 10 students

Students covered the whole A1 level  and the first part of the A2 level which means that they can express themselves already in both present and past tense (passato prossimo). Students can use normal and also reflexive verbs when talking, they can make comparisons, they can use direct and indirect pronouns. They have a good range of vocabulary including family, food and drinks, everyday activities, professions, holidays and accommodations. In this course we will learn more on how to use direct and indirect object pronouns when talking and we will learn how to talk about past events using both passato prossimo and imperfetto. You will be also introduced to present conditional. Vocabulary will vary from talking about one's present and past life, vacations, Italian cities and places to visit and Italian culture.

Intermediate B1 

​

• Duration: 10 weeks - 75 minutes per lesson

Students have already covered the A1 and A2 level, meaning they can already express themselves in Italian in three time frames, present, past and future. They covered already a wide range of tenses in the indicativo (presente, passato prossimo, imperfetto, futuro) and also condizionale semplice and imperativo formale e informale. In this course we will practise all these tenses in conversation through structured speaking activities based on cultural and personal topics. In terms of grammar, we will expand on pronouns in Italian, we will reinforce the use of direct and indirect pronouns and we will learn how to use combined pronouns, also some usages of the pronouns ci and ne, past conditional and you'll be introduced to subjunctive mood both in the present and past tense.

High Intermediate B2

Gli studenti hanno raggiunto un buon livello dopo aver coperto il livello B1 e hanno una buona conoscenza della grammatica italiana a livello B1. La produzione orale è già di livello intermedio con un'alta abilità di comprensione dell'ascolto. In questo corso pratichiamo i periodi ipotetici, la forma passiva, gli usi del condizionale e del congiuntivo e impariamo nuove espressioni idiomatiche, frasi colloquiali, verbi pronominali e usi particolari del congiuntivo in frasi indipendenti. Le lezioni sono interamente in italiano a tema culturale e includono attività di dibattito.

Advanced C1

Per studenti che hanno raggiunto un livello B2 pieno e possono quindi affrontare lezioni di livello avanzato. Gli studenti conoscono già tutta la grammatica italiana e hanno un vocabolario ampio, che include espressioni idiomatiche. In questo corso affrontiamo temi culturali e in classe portiamo avanti attività di discussione. Studiamo forme grammaticali avanzate in contesto come usi particolari del congiuntivo, verbi pronominali, espressioni idiomatiche e connettori del discorso. Questo corso è perfetto per chi vuole fare mantenimento ed è interessato all'arte italiana, la storia, la cultura, la musica e altri temi di carattere culturale o di attualità.

Classes are 10 students maximum.

All courses are LIVE on Zoom with all students participating actively and all sessions are also recorded so that students who miss a class can watch the lesson if they miss it or they can rewatch it to practice. You will receive the lesson materials (activities, pdf, slides, audios, etc.) in advance and it will be yours forever.
